Appwrite is looking for a Developer Advocate who not only possesses a solid technical background but also excels in social media engagement, particularly on Twitter (X). This role is designed for individuals passionate about technology and open-source communities, offering a unique opportunity to grow fast in a dynamic startup environment. You will educate, engage with developers, and share insightful technical content across social platforms, including a significant focus on managing and elevating our presence on Twitter (X).

Primary Responsibilities

• Social Media: Take charge of our @appwrite Twitter (X) account and also help with other social accounts by interacting with our community, including promptly replying to posts and proactively engaging with developers through your personal account to grow your personal brand and the Appwrite presence

• Content Creation: Produce and repurpose technical content tailored for social media platforms, with a strong focus on repurposed content and creating technical content on the Appwrite website.

• Community Advocacy: Collaborate with our Engineering, Support, and Growth teams to advocate for developers’ needs and support them in using our products effectively

• Growth Support: Work closely with our Growth team to strategize and execute a comprehensive social media calendar, focusing on technical content that resonates with our audience, and assist in tracking and analyzing engagement metrics and trending technical topics

• Discord Community: Engage with the developer community on Discord, building relationships, answering questions, and providing feedback to engineering and the support team

Secondary Responsibilities

• Community Representation: Represent Appwrite at various developer-centric events, both in-person and virtual, to foster deeper connections with the developer community

Requirements

• Technical Proficiency: At least 2 years of software engineering experience with a good grasp of multiple programming languages and development tools

• Exceptional Communication: Outstanding ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly in both written and verbal forms

• Social Media Management: Demonstrated experience in managing social media accounts, particularly Twitter, with a focus on engaging and growing an online community around technology

• Collaboration: Strong capability to work effectively within a diverse, global team, with experience in remote collaboration tools and practices being a plus

• Adaptive Learning: An eager learner with the ability to rapidly adapt in a fast-paced tech environment, understanding developer workflows and challenges

• Content Creation Skills: Proven track record in creating engaging technical content and code demos

Nice-to-have

• Contributions to open-source projects

• Experience in Developer Advocacy or similar roles

• Experience in growing and nurturing online communities

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services
